This whole week, I’ve been like a massive bundle of nervous energy, crackling around, just waiting for the moment I’m going to explode. That night, one whole week ago, has been living on repeat in my brain. Every sexy kiss, every touch, all the beautiful things he muttered into my ear. The whole night was perfect, and not just the sex—though that was out of this world amazing. The parts in between are what really got me.

Those moments, in between sex sessions, it was like being with my best friend all over again, but more. I can’t really explain it, but when we started this physical thing between us, it’s like the last few walls we had up have come tumbling down. I’m not saying I ever purposely hid things from Shane, and the same with him, but I do think when you enter into a relationship with someone they see a whole different side of you. You open up to them, and you let them in.

Shane has always been my best friend, and I can trust him with anything, but we weren’t the type of friends who talk about sex. We never discussed the fact Shane likes to be in charge, and his dirty talking could make a woman’s panties melt from a mile away. I didn’t know any of this stuff, and now I do. Now we feel comfortable talking about anything, and it’s taken our relationship to the next level. I just wish the next level involved us seeing each other a little more.

Shane has been busy all week, working with the Family, trying to earn their trust and get them onside. I hate the idea that he’s trying so hard to be liked by people who may make him our enemy. At the moment, if he were to take it to a vote, the Marcushios would vote for rebellion. They want to rise up and kick Bree from her spot, which in turn would mean taking out my entire family. But there’s a lot of history there that the people lower down in his Family don’t understand. They see us as their enemy because they think Liam killed Leon, Shane’s dad. They blame us, and they know the Marcushios are the second biggest Family in the UK, and with the right kind of backing—both financial and firepower—they would stand a very good chance at taking us on. Which is exactly why Shane’s not taking it to a vote right now.

He’s meeting with all the departments, letting them get to know him and trust him, all whilst trying to spread the word about what really happened with his dad. But the only person to blame is Vernon, and of course he can’t do that, as Vernon is working with Brandon.

It’s a massive mess, and I hate that he’s caught in the middle, but if he can get the Marcushios onside, it will make things safer for me and my family, which can only be a good thing. I just wish it didn’t take up all of his time.
